COMMON NOTARY ACTS

WILLS are legal documents that ensure the protection of assets, surviving spouses, and heirs after one passes away. The witnesses have their signatures notarized.

HEALTHCARE DIRECTIVES transfers one's will and power for decision-making about one's healthcare

 to another. Witnesses' signatures are notarized on the document.

​

POWER OF ATTORNEY designates power to one particular person concerning one's financial decision and requires notarization. 

​

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS ensure that the signer is who they say they are. Acknowledgments are also known as declarations and are used for documents such as deeds, mortgages, and trust deeds. 

 

OATHS /AFFIRMATIONS  are given orally in front of a notary. It is a solemn pledge and promise based on the Supreme Being or one's honor. The signer chooses.

 

A COPY CERTIFICATE confirms that the reproduction of an original document is complete and accurate. Signed copies may include diplomas, driver's licenses, leases, contracts, vehicle titles, medical records, and bills of sale.

SIGNATURE WITNESSING requires that the signer (s) be present and signatures be verified by a notary.
